Another time-honored tradition that started last April Fools Day with the invasion of many moderators-turned-chop-socky stars in these very forums will celebrate it's second "official" day on Friday, August 22nd!
UPDATE: EXTENDED FOR A FEW MORE DAYS! You can thank slashdot.com for slowing down time. Official "closing" date to be announced HERE.
Much like "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day", this special day has been designated for you, the Roundtable forum visitor, to allow someone very close to you into your place of (video game posting) business. You can't really get much *closer* since this person is simply an extension of your own brain.
Here's how to play.
You'll need a working e-mail address that's different than the one you signed onto the forums with, and you'll need an alter ego. That's about it really. Register your new personality here on Friday, August 22nd, where a special "Alter Ego Forum" will be set up, complete with introduction thread. This alter-ego should be video game related (ex: "Ms. Pac-Man") and you can play it out however you'd like as long as you follow the standard forum guidelines. You should *not* say who you really are. Play it out like a good masquerade party. Get a convincing avatar and signature to go with it!
Over the weekend the moderators willl vote for our favorite "alter ego" and will also be looking for your feedback. There will be three prize packages:
BRONZE PRIZE will be a selection of PS2 and Xbox sampler discs and the new style DP T-shirt.
SILVER PRIZE will be everything from the BRONZE PRIZE plus the new Digital Press psychOpedia and a video-game themed baseball cap.
GOLD PRIZE will be everything from the SILVER PRIZE plus a huge assortment of games including Atari 2600, Odyssey, Genesis, Super NES, PlayStation, Lynx and Intellivision games.
Start thinking... and report in to the Alter Ego Forum on Friday to start acting out your part!
