Help: RGB mod to my NES toaster

So, my wife has decided that my CRT is too bulky and she wants me to use my NES Toaster on our flat screen HDTV. No problem I tell her, I'll just buy a Framemeister for $450 if she wants my CRT gone that badly. Anyway, I thought I could just buy a Framemeister, hook my RCA composit inputs into the FM and be done with it; boy was I wrong. After watching a few videos I find out about RGB, SCART cables, SCART adapters, etc.

My first question is, can anyone here mod my toaster for RGB and how much will it cost? Anyother alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen these before, but I don't think it would help with my space situation. Might be just as deep as my CRT. What is the life span on these things and do they need any special cables/adapters?

For an RGB NES, your best choice is Tim Worthington's NESRGB adaptor: http://etim.net.au/nesrgb/

It comes with a DIN jack that has the same pinout as the Framemeister (?) if you use an M to M connector (more details elsewhere).

You'll need to find someone to do the desoldering and installation for you, unless you yourself feel confident with a (de)soldering iron. I have no idea where to start searching for suitable modders.

WHAT? are commodore 1702 monitors really worth $150...? I have three of them. If I could get even a third that much for them I would sell them in a heartbeat.

Yurkie is the USA distributor for the NES RGB board, and he also does the mod. He did mine, his work is flawless, but it's an expensive mod, easily the most by far for RGB.

I found some modders that can do the work, I can get the work+the RGB board done for around $200. THEN I have to buy the framemeister xrgb-mini for about $450. I think for now I'll keep using my CRT until my wife breaks down and lets me get the mod done.
