Default Game Over Video Games -- Arlington, TX -- Dec. 14

Sunday, Dec. 14 I'm appearing at Game Over Videogames in South Arlington from 1 to 4, selling and autographing books.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I hope you can stop by and say hi. Even if you aren't in the market for a book, feel free to hang out and talk classic video games.

Brett Weiss, author of the "Classic Home Video Games" book series and The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987.

Whu.... uh... how long has that place been there? I've driven past that area a thousand freakin' times and never knew there was a game store there. The only game store that's ever been around that area was the old Play N' Trade, I wonder if this place has any connection?

No connection to Play N Trade. Game Over is far superior.

Here's the whole story behind Game Over Video Games, a retail chain that began in Austin:

I finally had the chance to check out Game Over, and... wow, that's a nice place. There's a lot more than I thought there might be, a lot of the time these types of game stores are usually emphasizing modern games and second-hand DVDs over classic retro stuff (GameXchange is a good example). I was pretty impressed with their selection. I'm not used to finding that much pre-NES era stuff in stores, especially when it comes to controllers. I'm definitely going back when I have more money to splash out.

Cool, I hope you can come out Sunday if you get the chance. I haven't seen you at any shows recently.

I have to work on Sunday, sorry about that. I do want to go back in there at some point to grab some of the Atari 2600 rarities/oddities in the glass cases.

Understood. The autographing was fun and I sold some books, so I hope to do it again there, maybe next summer.
