Smile The Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast

Hi Guys! A little while ago I launched the Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast.
It is similar to Ferg's Atari 2600 Game By Game Podcast, but with my own little touches added here and there.
(BTW- Ferg is totally cool with this)

Right now it is biweekly and covers two games per episode.
So far I have released 3 episodes:

Episode 1: The Atari 7800 Pro System Overview & Memories
    Episode 2: Asteroids & Centipede
Episode 3: Hat Trick & Winter Games

My next episode should be done after the weekend and will cover Dig Dug & Food Fight
I'm always looking for feedback on the games I'm covering, have covered or system memories.
You can send text or mp3 to atari7800podcast@aol.com
All I ask is that you keep it family friendly.

You can find them on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/...958792862?mt=2
    Here is the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/78gbg
You can also stream them off of my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UChtJuo040EOCTVziObIgVcg
You can also follow me on facebook: www.facebook.com/7800GameByGamePodcast

I hope y'all check it out and I hope to hear from some of you for the show. Listener feedback imo is the best part!

Your iTunes link doesn't work right, it says that your podcast isn't available in my region (America).

Hmm. That's weird. How about this link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/...336625169&mt=2

Of course you can also search for it in the iTunes store (Just search for Atari 7800. Should pop right up)
I also out episodes on my Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCht...EOCTVziObIgVcg

Oh, and Episode 4 just dropped covering Dig Dug & Food Fight. Enjoy!

I listened to the Galaga / Joust episode last night and enjoyed it ,I have never been a fan of Galaga as a game even prefering Galaxian and Moon Alien Pt II in the arcades but I think 7800 Joust has to be the best port. Keep up the good work Phil.

I like it, but... something about the presentation of the podcast is causing me to tune out as I'm listening. Granted, I am listening to an audio-only version of it so it might be different if I saw visual aids with the audio in the form of a video. I think it would be better if each "sub-section" of an episode was shorter. My advice to you is to change subjects more often and don't dwell on them as long.

For example, let's say an episode was about Pac-Man and Dig Dug. Each of these sections would have a few sub-sections like development history, publisher and developer info, public reaction at time of release, what people think in retrospective, how the games play, sounds, looks, strategies, etc. However every sub-section should only be a few minutes long - make them about half their current length. It will help to keep people's attention.

There also needs to be more variety in the audio. Intersperse the podcast with sound effects and music. e.g. Right before beginning the conversation about a game, name the game and then play a bit of its intro music (where applicable). Then, while still discussing the game, every time you switch to a new sub-section, play an easily recognized, common sound effect from the game as the sound which introduces a sub-section change. e.g. When you switch from talking about Pac-Man's development to the public's reaction, play the "wooh-wump!" sound effect.

And don't underestimate the importance of quiet and silence. Use them to your advantage in your audio. It helps to break it up. You might use 2-3 seconds of silence after talking about Pac-Man before starting on Dig Dug. It helps listeners mentally note that the topic is changing.
