That looks amazing. Love the boxes. I really think the boxes add so much to a collection. The visual is outstanding.
I was a few carts short of a NES and SNES collection a few years back. I use to love the look of all the games line up. People who saw the gameroom could not believe it. Unfortunately, it was all lost in the Colorado fires two summers ago. soooooooo sad.

Holy crap that's tragic, not just the games but the whole house going up really. Hell of a loss from many stand points.

Hey MachineGex. First off, thanks for the kind words. It's definitely a lovely thing to come home to after a taxing day at work. On particularly crappy days, I like coming into the game room to just admire my set-up for 5-10 minutes, recalling the various memories and letting them flood over me, taking me back to a simpler and happier time in my life. To me these things are more than circuit boards, cardboard and paper. They're little collective snapshots of my child and adulthood. Sometimes just seeing a certain box art or looking at the back of a box will take me back some 20 years. It's a trip, and it's probably the closest thing I have to a time machine. As corny as I'm sure this will sound, my whole game room is like 1994 frozen in a time capsule

Secondly, I'm so sorry to hear about your losses due to the Colorado fires. As long as you and your family are safe, though, that's all that ultimately matters in the end.

Congratulations on a really fantastic collection!

Having complete games is (IMHO) what really makes for a polished looking collection.

I unfortunately have many games that are disc or cartridge only, and they invariably feel like outliers in the collection... even if the title is one of the more rare ones.

Pretty soon with all the consoles going digital, even having a "disc" of any type will be a rarity.
The longest journey starts with the first step...

I've finally put my games in ABC order! Here's what it looks like:

Also, I have been featured on Retronick.com in an interview regarding my SNES collection. Check it out here:

Thanks Celery. It's like a childhood dream come true, lol. Like, after all the BS of the real world it's the perfect place to retire to for an evening of nostalgia and discovery. I still have 200+ games I probably have never played before, and it's fun looking at the shelf, seeing what strikes my fancy and playing it. Sometimes I pick a brand new game, other times I go for my "comfort food" and fire up a golden oldie I know I'll have a blast with i.e. Super Mario Kart, Contra III, etc.

But it's like my own sanctuary of 1994, lol. It reminds me of the good times I had as a kid, when my dad used to take me to the rental stores on the weekend. It's a slice of history in my own backyard. I feel really fortunate beause I know how insane prices today are. I never would gotten to this point if I didn't start when I did (2006). So when I see people complaining about online prices, I just glance at my collection and remember to thank my lucky stars.
