Here I have a original run, non-chipped Sega Genesis.
I did use this some years ago and it worked then; of course that's then, not now. But when I used it I stuck a Budokan cart in it which worked; It did not work on later systems that I had at the time.
More photos - the box was damaged, undeniably:

Finally, to show it's a non-chipped Genesis:
So, what would you say it's worth - that is, with and without the RFU and controller? I'm thinking of getting those and I'm sure the value would go up if I did that. I know these original run models came with controllers that had red lettered buttons so I may have to get one of those. I haven't actually tested the system on a TV since I don't yet have something to test it with. It does turn on at least.
*UPDATE* I did get a controller and RFU. The system turns on and plays, the first controller port works, the Channel 3/4 switch works and so does the volume slider. I haven't tested the Sega CD bay or the other A/V out plug though. Also, The controller (A mega-fire type with the red buttons) does work but the C button must be pressed hard to work. The controller casing looks to be in good shape though.
