    Default Mr. Do! (Japanese)

Is it true all versions of the Japanese Mr. Do! arcade game, there known as Yukidaruma (lit. "snow man"), are the same?

Here's the supposed prototype for the snowman version:

And here's the final version with Do! now as the clown:

When you listen to the music, much of that inspired the music for the ColecoVision and Atari 2600 ports of the game - which makes me ask you this: why did Coleco base it on the prototype version instead of the final U.S. version of the game?

The ColecoVision version's music consisted of:
MAIN BACKGROUND MUSIC goes to the YUKIDARUMA version
LIFE LOST jingle is also from YUKIDARUMA
LEVEL COMPLETE jingle goes to the arcade version's NAME ENTRY music (all versions)
ALPHAMONSTER+MUNCHERS music is just simple noise-channel beeping, not used at all in YUKIDARUMA
