    Default Sonic Dash Extreme

I don't know how much of an "arcade machine" this counts as as it is a ticket redemption game /and/ it is a "port" of an Android mobile game. But nonetheless, check out Sonic Dash Extreme. So far it has been spotted in the United Kingdom. Thanks to TitansCreed for the photographs and video.

It looks like the shitty F2P game put in an arcade machine. That's the Sega I know and love hard at work as usual.

The Android game was made with the Unity Game engine, which is multi-platform. Just change a checkbox and you're building for Android, iPhone, PC, Mac, XBOX 360, Wii, PS4, etc... So I'm guessing there's a PC under the hood and there is very little different from the free mobile version.

But why pay for an OS/license for every machine you are going to make when you could load up a Free OS like Android or GNU/Linux on each arcade machine?

For consoles you have to pay a license fee to the manufacturers to develop on that platform, but not on PC. My point was that with Unity it would be incredibly easy for them to build for a pc, and just turn a monitor sideways. I don't know this for a fact but just from my experience with it, I'd guess that's what's going on here.

I think that it takes quite the resourcefulness & creativity to make an Sonic Dash Extreme arcade cabinet.

Hate to say it but you're right. There is enough of a game there to merit it, at least by 80s arcade standards. As long as you get like 3 tries for a quarter or something of the similar sort I think that it would be fair to bother with it.
