Sony and MS are giving no reason to upgrade when they still get most the support to the older generation systems. Through many different forces efforts they both have not been rightly put out to pasture as far as large scale releases go and should have been by now as they've been out around a year and a half now. Historically you'd see maybe a year worth of decent effort still and after that a trickle, usually a late project or a bigger studio keeping things going a bit. Short of stuff that just won't function on the older systems they're getting heaps of stuff giving no reason to buy up. I only have a PS4 because I wrangled a deal on a new one on the second hand market which had bundled games I didn't want and ended up costing me only $200 or I'd still not have it. The library of games I have on it amounts to 7 discs and I think other than LittleBigPlanet the rest are all on PS3 too.
