The SNES console powers up, the games load up, the Select and Start buttons of the controllers work, BUT the controls when I play games just don't work correctly. Sometimes I can't go left or right in jumping games, in shmups the ships will shoot without using the shoot button just by going left or right. The controls just don't work correctly.

I tried three different controllers, same problems, so I suspect it might be the connectors for the controllers of the system itself. I'm not sure. Should I clean these connectors and how? Or is it something inside the console? 'I'd really appreciate your help.

I was six years out of the country, and now I wanna reorganize my gameroom completely. So, the console was sitting there for six years and didn't get the tender loving care it usually got. I just hope all of my other consoles work, I didn't check them out yet.
