    Default Sega Classics Brand?

Are "Sega Classics" like a greatest hits thing and if so are they less desirable as a collectors item than the first run?

That's a great question. Personally, anything labeled "greatest hits" or "classics" and is re-packaged like this is less desireable, but to the completist, they're just as important. I don't collect label variations, personally, so my time is spent trying to *replace* any games that I have with this type of packaging.

    Other opinions are welcome!

I'm getting a few soon, that 10 bin is too much imo for just Shinobi though. Used! And yeah, I'm betting they're not too valuable or desired since they're all over ebay at the moment, sealed and brand new.

Just thought I should pass the word along after completing my transaction with ebay member nate.gamers. He has quite a few of the Sega Classics new, sealed! I got 4 games for 16 bucks shipped, that's 4 bucks a piece. Nice guy.

Yes he is a great seller, happens to be a wholesaler that I know on ebay. I have dealt with him a few times, always happy, lots of new top quality items!

I've been wondering this for a while myself. Do you think it's possible that "Sega Classics", "Greatest Hits" or "Player's Choice" boxes might someday be worth any less than the original release? (Witness the FFVII game listed in the eBay forums for proof that this is already happening...)

Personally, I'm not that concerned with variations so long as the game is complete and in working order. Maybe someday, but not right now.

A little followup on the Sega Classics line.. the cases themselves are a little thicker (spine-wise) than the other style, and the instructions are printed in black and white. Obvious cost cutting. The cartridges themselves look identical to the original run labels however, though a sharp eye could make out the different tone of ink between the two, original and classic, which is a little lighter.

After all that, I'll just say this...

My "Classics" copy of Revenge of Shinobi has an original-style full-color manual. Figure that one out... :P
