Default Best video game price guide?

What do you fine folks use to gauge the value of video games? Do you check Ebay's sold listings? Is there a certain website that you're fond of? I tend to use "videogames.pricecharting.com". Or maybe you've been at it so long you've got it burned into your brain to the point where you don't need anything else? :P
Just curious what options are out there.

I would say generally ebay completed listing minus 10-30%, maybe even a little less.
Most price guides are total BS written by wanna-be experts on video games. Almost all the time price guides are just compiled data from ebay completed listings.
However, many games just sell online for more than they probably should be worth. That being said, if you can get 30$ after fees on ebay for a super-common game, then thats what its worth.

If I want a gross fast generalization knowing their sifting tool isn't accurate the VGPC is ok.

If I have a few moments to dig I'll use the PAID (not completed) listings on ebay and I will be sure to check the little images and title description to be sure it's like for like very same in cart quality and if present the paper stuff (book, posters, boxes, etc.) From there I just see what the general average is on paid copies on the low and high end wiping out maybe the top and bottom 10% or so of bad luck cases (or good luck if someone over pays.) I do this whenever I sell on ebay so I come in on the low end to help stuff move better (despite some stuff sitting for months as some dumb people like to pay more for more beat up stuff which I will never understand.)

I usually use Price Charting. I'll follow it's links to ebay and see if it is accurate. Ebay prices might be slightly inflated to cover ebay and PayPal fees or even shipping, but the value of the games seems to be increasing so your likely going to be near accurate unless your looking for a specific value of a game at that very moment for reselling or trading.

I also use GameCollectorZ software which values alot of games using PriceCharting I believe, but I have to adjust it because I believe it uses the 'loose' price for the most part.

Ebay's sold listing is the first thing I check but sometimes I get no results for the rarer stuff. I'll then see if I can find any current listing from ebay and amazon and then calculate my own price based on what the majority is selling for.
