Arrow The ultra-rare Sony PlayStation SNES console has been switched on [Eurogamer.net]

Four months ago, an ultra-rare PlayStation SNES console prototype was discovered, photographed and revealed online.
Only 200 PlayStation SNES units were ever made - borne out of early plans for Nintendo and Sony to team-up and release a version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment system with a CD-ROM drive.
The vast majority were junked when the companies decided to go their separate ways. So it was a huge surprise when, in July, a surviving relic finally come to light. Now, it has been switched on.

Don't believe these dudes. Looks like a couple of father and son techies with alot of time on their hands. Very elaborate though, looks like they got their 15 minutes.

I don't know if it's the real prototype of the SNES Playstation but it's a possibility. Sony and Nintendo worked together to make a Nintendo console with a CD drive. But their partnership broke up and sony worked on the Playstation. So, why not ?

This is legitimate. It is #2 of 200 prototype units.

I'm pretty sure this is legitimate. Between the story that correlates pretty well with other informations about it from a former SNES CD developer, and now that we can see the cartridge BIOS working as well as the system itself (albeit without audio and CD drive working)...
Add to it photos of the inside, and I'm pretty sure this is legit.

I even wrote some blog posts about it:

    http://luigiblood.tumblr.com/post/13...095-self-check

Plus the owner is planning to dump the cartridge BIOS ROM. So good news: It's not going to be left unpreserved
(And I'll totally look into it...)

(Man I talked about BS-X Project last time... and I come back for the SNES CD news...)

Really neat to see it xrayed! Bascially it's just a SFC, but the bios will be nice, to have that Super Disc screen. Did they say what disc is in CD Rom drive? They also clarified that Terry Diebold purchased this at an auction of the liquidated assets.
