Default How do you power a japanese Sega Saturn?

I'm planning on purchasing a Japanese Sega Saturn. I however don't live in Japan. Could I power it using an American/PAL AC adapter?

Saturn doesn't use an external AC adapter. If you live in the US/Canada/Mexico, you just plug it in. If you live in a PAL country, you'll need a voltage adapter, which can be purchased most places that sell luggage or online. The 50/60Hz issue is not part of the voltage, and is a completely separate issue.

Edit: I kinda feel like there should be a sticky in import mania or something about this, as there are a ton of these same voltage questions coming up lately. Video game consoles are just like every other electronic appliance. All you need is an external converter for whatever region. NTSC to NTSC requires nothing. PAL to NTSC or vice versa requires a voltage converter to step up/down accordingly. Do this, and you don't have to worry about buying any special anything. Just plug and play.

    With the power of HIM......
    All is possible.

SEGATA SANSHIRO, SEGATA SANSHIRO, SEGA SATA~N SHIRO

All jokes aside, just get a step down transformer if you're in PAL countries (>110V - 240V) and nothing if you're in America/NTSC countries (100-110V), since the Sega Saturn runs on 110V iirc.

Srsly though, damn dat internal power supply.

I plug it straight into the wall (through a power tap actually) here in the US. Never had any problems with it.

Apparently you're in Europe, so like with an imported North American console, you will want to use the appropriate voltage transformer. Japan and North America are virtually identical regarding power supplies for electronics. They're safely interchangeable between the two territories.

I use 230VAC power board in one of modified M2 black&white Saturn while my Cross Dev Saturn runs on 100VAC using the 240->100 adapter.
