    Default The RetroVGS console

I wasn't sure if this should go in the Modern or Classic section so I put it here. (Sorry if I'm wrong :P)

The other day I found this cool looking video game system that is trying to go back to the older days of gaming. It failed it's IndieGoGo goal but it looks like they are still trying to make it happen. As someone learning to make games (made a few) I may want to try making games for this when I get better.

    Their site: http://www.retrovgs.com/home.html
IndieGoGo page which seems to have more info: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/retro-vgs#/

What are your thoughts on it?

Here's a thread about it where many of us have voiced our opinions about it. http://forum.digitpress.com/forum/sh...ole-Trainwreck

The general consensus is that it's vaporware.

Be happy knowing you'll never be as late as it is.

There's a massive thread on Atari Age which will keep you busy and probably amused for a few days.

My take? Lousy concept, ineptly explained, unlikely to be delivered.

Yeah that thread is gold, and when Ken showed when he could do more and for less, that really nailed it. I think they had a really cool idea, but a cart reading console these days needs to be like 1/2 what they're asking or forget it, especially if all you're showing is rehashed indie games that'll cost far more on a cart too.
