Yup sad but true but the EU makes the companies pay their dues and make it better for me and you.
Those are some good examples and I have no doubt you're right about the Android bit, though I already thought they didn't sell tablets crappy enough not to handle a couple years worth of Android updates anyway. Even then most software including games I've seen don't seem to have a problem still running on the last revision of Kitkat which is fairly old.
