Default FF7 on NES? and other demakes

So lately I've been seeing repro carts on ebay for an NES version of Final Fantasy VII. They're always hyper-expensive so I'm hoping somebody knows a good repro cart seller. Apparently this is based on a Chinese hack, but the translator also extensively tweaked it because he just loved FF7 that much.

Lately I've been hit by the bug too... I bought the PC version just so I could play the game with a fan-made retranslation patch (patching a PC game is far easier than getting a patched ISO working on a real playstation) so I'm curious about this.

Also apparently there's a demake of Resident Evil? Anyone got info on that?

Also what other fun "ports of games to inferior hardware than they were originally released for" can you all think of to talk about and recommend?

(Suggestion: Someone should port Resident Evil Gaiden to the NES, just sayin'...)

I've actually seen videos of a port of the Gameboy Color version of Resident Evil to the Famicom, but that's all I really have to say about that. Perhaps some Google searching would help?

I've seen the nes FF7 in english on aliexpress for around 30-40 which is likely less than half of what a repro maker would charge & it's a brand new pcb

The pirate ports of aladdin and donkey kong country on the nes are pretty good, the legit aladdin game on the nes is awful, the master system has a few retail "demake"s that are pretty solid for the systems limitations

I'll search for it... I heard there was a Resident Evil for NES but I thought it was based on the PS1 original rather than RE Gaiden. If its based on Gaiden tho, then I want to own it.

That actually looks pretty sweet! They same to have gotten the intro down, lol!

Isn't there an ocarina of time demake that uses the a link to the past engine? I never played it but I always thought it was a clever idea.

I took a chance and ordered this:

Not sure if they are any good, but they didn't seem prohibitively expensive. I'll see if they are any good when they arrive.

Shipping was slow boat, so it took a while.. but here they are. I was surprised at the quality on these. They are obviously repros, but the build quality is pretty good for the price. New shell, pcb, and the labels are glossy and nice looking. The games fit into my front loader with no issue, booted right up, no problems. For $30 a piece on weird pirate mapper games like this, and with this kind of build quality I'd say go for it.
