Should You Buy a GameCube in 2017?

The Nintendo Gamecube is turning 16 this year. First released in 2001, it wasn't one of Nintendo's best selling consoles, but it has definitely earned a large following since. However, with the Nintendo Switch coming out soon and being rumoured to have Gamecube games on it's Virtual Console, it has to be asked: Is there still any reason to go out and buy a Gamecube (or even a Gamecube-compatible Wii) in 2017?

Is it even worth it to own a Nintendo Gamecube in 2017?

Thus, on today's episode, we're going to give you three reasons why to still buy a Gamecube, then counter each reason to show why you may want to pass on the little lunchbox. Is now a good time to get one, or would you be better off getting a Switch? Does it have a good enough library to still warrant a purchase? Find out on today's episode!

The BEST Pokémon Bootleg? Pokémon Green for NES! | SWPG

Bootleg games are unlicensed video games that are sold as if they were official parts of the series they aim to knockoff. They range from simple rom hacks to full fledged productions, but they tend to have a very low quality. In fact, many are hardly playable, if at all. Most seem to originate from China, Russia, or Mexico, and usually end up having little if anything to do with their source material.

Pokémon Green for the Nintendo Entertainment System (well, Famicom), is a bootleg meant to capitalize on the Game Boy game of the same name. Unlike most bootlegs, though, this one seems to be quite good. Is it truly worth your time? Does it have anything to actually do with Pokémon? And is it playable without knowledge of Japanese? Find out on today's Stuff We Play Gaiden review!

Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space? | SWPG

Donkey Kong Country was first released in 1994 and is still beloved by many to this day. However, as a result of this massive popularity, bootlegs have been made in recent years, with most coming from China. This is one of those bootlegs.

Donkey Kong 5: The Journey of Over Time and Space is a Game Boy Color game that aims to bring the DKC experience to the handhelds, except not really. Besides, Donkey Kong Land already did that. It's a unique game that initially seems to want to try something new for Donkey Kong, but will it succeed at this Is this game any good? Can it hold a candle to Rare's Super Nintendo offerings? Find out on today's Stuff We Play Gaiden review!

Well, as we all know the real YouTube money lies with poorly researched theory videos. It might not be as good as something along the lines of Sans is Ness or Pokémon being rebooted, but this should do the trick and make me millions.

I'll remember all of you when we reach the top.

I traded away my retro gaming PC! However, I got some sweet pickups as well, so let's see what goodies an old PC got me!

Goodbye, Tandy 1000! | Gaming on the Run

The Tandy 1000 is a great DOS PC. However, all good things must come to an end, and thus our Tandy, along with part of our retro PC gaming collection, must be sold or traded.

Should you buy a Nintendo New 2DS XL?

Nintendo has just announced the newest member of the Nintendo 3DS line of handheld gaming consoles: the Nintendo New 2DS XL. Priced at $150, this new, sleek model provides all of the functionality of the New 3DS XL...except for the 3D capabilities, of course. Coming out this July, it seeks to be a middle-of-the-road offering between the regular 2DS and the New 3DS XL. However, is it worth your money? Who is this thing actually marketed towards? Does Nintendo even know what to do with this thing? Find out my thoughts on it in today's video!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has come out recently for the Nintendo Switch. Promoted as the definitive version of Mario Kart 8, does it live up to the hype or is it merely a cash-in? New video out today, on what may be the worst Pokémon Bootleg ever made!

Pokémon Adventure: The WORST Pokémon Bootleg?

The Game Boy and Game Boy Color were popular among bootleggers. The massive popularity of these platforms led to many unofficial games to be created for them. Pokémon Adventure is one such game.

Not to be confused with the Pokémon Adventures manga, this game is based off an existing bootleg based off Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon Adventure seeks to bring a fast-paced adventure to the Game Boy Color. However, does it succeed at this? Is this game worth playing at all? Find out in today's Stuff We Play Gaiden review!

New discussion video out today on what truly defines a terrible game console!

What Makes a Terrible Game Console? | SWPG

While all game consoles have their respective pros and cons, some have gone down in history as the absolute worst. However, is this scorn deserved? What truly defines a gaming console as terrible?

In today's video, we seek to answer these questions. We take a look at platforms such as the Sega 32X, Nintendo Virtual Boy, 3DO, and Phillips 3Di and decide whether they're truly terrible, or merely just poorly remembered. In the process, we'll go over what truly defines a gaming platform as being great or terrible.

Our Retropalooza video is finally out! See if it is possible to have a cheap date at a game convention!

    The $20 Retropalooza Date Challenge

Find out as we go over everything Turbografx, from the console itself to some of it's best and most expensive games, in today's episode of Stuff We Play!

Pokémon Gold and Silver are going to be re-released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on 22 September 2017. However, are they worth buying, especially if you played the originals back in the day?

Yes. Today, we're going over why it's less so a reason on IF you should buy these ports of the second generation Pokémon games, but WHY you should buy them.
