    Anybody remember reading this review in VG&CE back in the day?

    kuporeview of Rambo 3 on the SMS.

    Operation Wolf.

    //

    I haven't played Rambo 3, just saw that a couple of those images look identical to Operation Wolf, just worse graphics. Operation Wolf is such a great game though. If Rambo 3 is just as good, I probably would have loved playing through it.

    *edit*

    "a couple of those images." There are only a couple there. :P. Leaving it the way I said it though, sounds funnier that way.

    Rambo III on the Master System was indeed an Operation Wolf clone, and a pretty bad one at that. I just really enjoy VG&CE's writing - For the time, it was much better than EGM's.

    Also, if you're remembering the Genesis game Rambo III, yes that was a completely different game.

    I agree. I loved VG&CE. Still a great read even compared to modern mags.

    It's the one mag that I have all the issues of the VG&CE run (until it switched to a new title).

    The hit and miss review system. That's a trip! How long did that last, one issue?

    The hit and miss review system started in EGP (Electronic Game Player) in 1988, the forerunner of EGM. EGP lasted 4 issues, but only 2 of them are available for download, so I am not sure if it started with the last issue, because there aren't any in the first, and the middle two issues are missing.

    That review system continued into the first couple of EGMs. The 1989 Buyer's Guide (February 1989) and EGM #1 (May 1989)

    Starting with EGM #2 - July/August 1989, the Review Crew system was implemented.
