Default New PS4 games rattling in case

I'm not sure if you guys noticed this, but I've seen a couple brand new PS4 games where the disc isn't snapped in and rattling around in the case. The last 2 games I have bought were "No Man's Sky" and " Breach & Clear: Deadline". Bought both in the past week and have sealed copies with loose discs on the inside.

Am I just unlucky or is this a thing now? I've bought many games in my life and it's only been recently since I've noticed this.

It's extremely common with PS4 games. Sony is aware of the problem with their cases, but they don't really care, especially considering how difficult it is to scratch a BD. Basically any slight bit of jostling can make the discs pop loose. Most, if not all, of my PS4 games from Limited Run Games have arrived with loose discs.

I've only ordered one PS4 game from LRG and that was Oddworld and it's thankfully came in its case. Almost everything I purchase is sent through the mail as well, and the majority of the time it's in it's case rather than not, sometimes though it might be loose. The last three games I've received have actually been loose, but overall it might be like 25% or less has been loose.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

I've been pretty lucky in getting PS4 games still stuck in the proper place, but they do rattle a lot.

No way of knowing if the disc is damaged or even a bad pressing. Always a good idea to test run any game instead of waiting years later when out of print and "collectors" high priced. On the plus, the loose games indicate the center hubs will not be too tight as to damage a disc from excess flex upon removal. I have lightly filed down ALL my Gamecube case center holders which put a death grip on the discs.

well considering how tough the discs are and how soft and flimsy the plastic cases are they don't get scratched much if at all.

It's because there's no manual in there to hold the disc in place.
