This is a Nintendo Press Kit from 1990.

Nintendo Press Kits were generally either given out to members of the press at trade shows like E3 and CES, or were used internally for reference by Nintendo employees.
This copy was originally owned by a Nintendo employee.

There is some very interesting information in the press release documents in this binder. For instance: Did you know that in 1990 Nintendo of America was spending money developing the first online network for NES owners which would have allowed them to compete on-line, against other players coast-to-coast...? Long before "XBAND", the first online console gaming network was available for the Super NES and Genesis systems, Nintendo was originally trying to develop this technology for the NES, and even announced these plans to the press in 1990. Of course, these plans never came to pass, but you can read about them anyway in this press kit! There are many interesting facts revealed in the press releases in this binder, and this is only one of them.

This binder includes Full-Color Brochures Which Showcase Nintendo's Systems, Games, Magazines and Service Center Test Equipment.

This binder also includes many 8"x10" Black-and-White Photographs of Nintendo's Games, Systems, Accessories, Magazines, Store Displays, Test Stations, and Executives (like "Game Master" Howard Phillips), and also some 8"x10" Full-Color Photograps of Competing Systems and Games by Sega. These are all real photographs which were developed from film, and they have that genuine developed picture smell (if you are old enough to remember that.)
