Default Complete and updated list of PS4 indie/exclusive/limited/regional physical releases

I've been tracking limited and exclusive titles for the PS4 as well as indie games (games released by smaller publishers or games not typically released in physical format). I also like to track exclusive games for each region (I don't collect Asia-specific stuff for the moment, so I haven't concentrated on that, though I'd be curious if there are any English-language/subtitled games that are available there and nowhere else). I'd like this to be a great resource for collectors going for indie titles (like me) or going for full physical sets (since it is tricky to know what is available in the region you don't live in).

Please suggest any additions. For now I'm holding off on including typical JRPG's and the like since those aren't in the same vein as your typical indie game. I'll only include those if they fit in any of the "exclusive" lists below.

That's a very complete and informative list. Well done!

I think the PS4 will be a collector's dream with so many indie games getting physical releases from all over the world. It just makes collecting for it so damn interesting. And these are usually in the $20 to $30 price range, so collecting isn't expensive.

I've been collecting for the PS4 for awhile and can offer a few titles for consideration...

From the EU you can find a physical version of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - Gold Edition that was only released digitally in North America. You can also find Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Europa Edition.

English subtitled games from Asia to consider are Alienation, Fat Princess Adventures, Shadow of the Beast, Caladrius Blaze and the Hotline Miami Collected Edition.

I'm curious if there's a reason you did not include Mighty No. 9?

Again, well done for a much appreciated list and effort.
    Thanks!

I'll also list some games that are exclusive to other regions as well.

Bloodborne The Old Hunters (Asia English release) Includes game and all DLC, no US release
Bloodborne Game of the Year Edition (PAL) Includes game and all DLC, no US release
Gundam Breaker 3 (Asian English release)
Super Robot Wars OG The Moon Dwellers (Asian English release)
Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs Force (Asian English release)
Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme PS4 (Asian English release)
SD Gundam G Generation Genesis (Asian English release)
Super Robot Wars V (Asian English release)

These aren't indie but maybe you could add a list of digital only games that later received retail ports?

Pacman Championship Edition 2 (Also US only so far, haven't seen any listings anywhere else.)

Added Pac-Man, doesn't seem to have a definitive date yet but I knew it was coming out relatively soon... Yeah, my intent with the Indie list is to also include it as sorta a catch-all list for digital games that got physical versions later. So games like Pac-Man CE 2 should live in that list.

Yeah, I'd like to create a list of Asian-English games, but would like more data about the games so I can sort them out (whether they are released in Japan, Hong Kong, etc..., whether they are English subtitled or have English voiceovers as well) The Hong Kong releases look like "region-free" releases without any ratings system box on the front, etc... I'm not too familiar with the Asian releases...

Mighty No. 9 was an oversight. Lara Croft Gold Edition is the only version of the game to have a physical disc right? American copy just has a PSN code?

Hate to be a speculator on PS4 collecting right now, but I'd have to say the rarest physical game at this point is probably Toro (Spain, PAL), probably moreso than any of the Limited Run games. It is fun to kind of gauge things as they are fluid now, then you can get a better understanding of the true rarity for these things later down the road, I guess that is why I find modern collecting (or I like to say, archiving) to be fun.

Agree. I've only seen one copy come up on Ebay worldwide in the last year and ironically it was sold by a US based collector. Of course, I just now checked and oddly there is a UK based seller with three new copies who won't ship to the US.

Of course...and they are selling at a pretty nice price. I know of one person in the U.S. outside of myself who own the game (guy on youtube has a video of his collection with it, maybe he's the same guy that sold it...) I don't know why it even got a physical release tbh, game looks like low budget PS2 stuff. The other two Spanish (non-music) releases aren't all that rare, but I found Tadeo Jones to be a pain to import at a decent price. I could see that one probably being a decent rare down the road.

Just went to a Walmart in San Diego, CA and it looks like Professional Farmer 2017 has a physical release. I only saw the Xbox One version but I would assume there is probably a PS4 release as well. It had the UIG logo and an ESRB rating on the front and was priced at $30. Of course, Farming Simulator 2017 was on the shelf next to it for $50 with the exclusive Walmart DLC.

Great list! Thanks for creating it and maintaining it! For playing and collecting this is a very important list!

I got a PS4 pretty late (6 weeks ago) and use it since then pretty much as a retro-console. Although I love current games as well, I have to say that I had a great fun time with Lumo, Song of the Deep, Assault Suit Leynos and Giana Sisters.

In particular Lumo surprised me. Fantastic game, great level design, atmosphere and humor create an own identity despite its clear Solstice- and Equinox-roots. A fantastic hommage to the now extinct 2D-isometric-puzzle platformer. I can only highly recommend this game, I enjoyed it as much as Shovel Knight.

I'm so glad that we get physical releases of these games since the success of the two Rayman games. However, my enjoyment with and the general success of these games are also an indicator of a huge deficiency in modern game design. Simplicity, challenge, the rewarding feeling by slowly mastering the game and the playful bonkersness of the 2D-era and early 3D-era did not translate into modern game design. There seems to be a big divide between the childlike game aspect of the games in the 80s and 90s and the 'serious' games of the last decade. Modern games take themselves too seriously and the 'playful' component falls short.

I don't know the reasons why that is. The realistic 3D-graphics? The dramatically increased production costs as an obstacle to take risks for courageous and unusual game design? All I know is that we live in an era of triple A-titles which I enjoy a lot but cannot deliver the simplicity, challenge, and playful puzzle-aspects of the games pre-2000.

Just a heads up that a UK seller listed Toro on Ebay. I took one copy at $50.00 shipped, leaving one for anybody interested.

Of course, Farming Simulator 2017 was on the shelf next to it for $50 with the exclusive Walmart DLC.
Really? Wow... I haven't seen anything about a physical release from any sources I traditionally use (and don't regularly use). I'll hold off on adding to the list until someone can spot the PS4 copy. Somehow not excited about the possible existence of this one lol.

Is the Wal-Mart exclusive DLC actually on the box itself or is it a sticker on the wrapper? I did see this the other day when I poked my head in Wal-mart. Surprised to see all these "unannounced" exclusives all of a sudden at Wal-mart (or shall we say "de facto" exclusive since that is the only place some of these games are popping up lately). I'm half expecting to see that Forestry see a physical release here now...

I got one already and don't want to get greedy. Hopefully someone here snatches it. Looks like they opened up their shipping availability then.

Lumo is coming in the mail for me today or tomorrow, can't wait to try it. I hear you on big budget, modern games lacking that simple, relaxing and enjoyable gameplay that could keep me hooked for hours. Not to say I that I don't have fun with those (Battlefield 1 getting a lot of time lately, but sharing it with a few indies...). It's also not to say that indie stuff can't be garbage (Super Dungeon Bros. just came out and is pretty shabby imo). But I do miss the general variety games released in the pre-PS3/360 days going back to the NES.

It was gone 15 minutes after I posted. Just a random chance that one was available when I was looking. That's what I like about collecting.... you never know. I'm sure more will turn up.

I also grabbed Yesterday Origins, Ginger: Beyond the Crystal and Worlds of Magic Planar Conquest from UK sellers. I saw copies of Joe's Diner and Forestry 2017 listed from Germany and Greece, respectively. So I'm thinking a UK seller will have those soon.

It's always a crap shoot with these games. Will they get a US release or not. They aren't really anymore expensive to get from Europe even with the shipping, but I would prefer US versions when ever possible.
    You just never know .....

I know...the traditionalist in me wants that NTSC version whenever possible. Though I'm happy collecting PAL games these days if that is my only option, considering how we live in a region-free world now...

Yep, I try to wait a month or two after the UK release to see if anything pops up for a US release. There are some developers and publishers that just don't have good distribution relationships in the US and have never been able to get anything released over here. Of course, the fact that UIG is now getting stuff published over here on consoles is a little odd, but they have been publishing on PC in the US, so I guess it's not much of a stretch. I've been holding off on Worlds of Magic Planar Conquest because it's Maximum Games, so I suspect that one might make it over here eventually.

It was also released physically today on Xbox One, PS4 and 3DS in the United States. On an unrelated note, Gamefy (which is usually pretty accurate) is now showing Tower Of Guns Special Edition as having a US PS4 physical release on 11/22. They were showing it as 12/31/16 for a long time. There is also a placeholder on Amazon that went up last night.

I just noticed Tower of Guns slipping in there on Amazon too...wow, that took a long time for them to get it over to the States if that is true...

Confirmed with UIG on Facebook that it is, in fact, true that Professional Farmer 2017 for PS4 should be in North American stores soon (which I'm assuming is Wal-mart at this point). Also confirmed with Headup Games on Twitter that Bridge Constructor will be a physical title in German-speaking countries only (it is available for preorder on Amazon.de). I am going to assume Silence (which hits later this month as well) is a German-only release for now, but Bridge Constructor is rock-solid German-only.

Confirmed with Microids that Moto Racer 4 will see an American release on 1/24...could be digital though, they didn't specify...

Looking like Hasbro Family Fun Pack: Conquest Edition is available on Gamestop's website, haven't seen it for purchase/preorder elsewhere. Drops next week.

Hasbro went up for preorder on Best Buy earlier today on both platforms as well.
