How about Earth Light Luna Strike?

There's two things I love about Military Madness (having only played the TG16 one):

First, that the deadly weapon the bad guys invented is the SAM Missile (SAM literally means "Surface-to-Air Missile"... you'd think the acronym would be StAM in that case, but no...)

Second is how the passwords are all literally just the names of the maps, so you just have to tell it what level you were on to continue.

I thought I remembered an EGM article on Earth Light 2 Luna Strike, all I could find was one for the original Earth Light.

I've never read anyone discussing Earth Light.
Do we know if this is an extension of the Military Madness world/storyline?

More spiritual successor, I believe, but I don't read Japanese aside from a few words to know if there are any small tie-ins to imply that it's set in the same universe.
