After some cryptic and nostalgic Twitter teases, SEGA has officially announced the SEGA Forever initiative, which brings an ever-expanding lineup of the company’s classic games to mobile devices. SEGA Forever will contain games from a long list of retro SEGA gaming hardware, with the following consoles included on the list:
    SG-1000
    Master System
    Genesis/Mega Drive
    Game Gear
    SEGA Saturn
    Dreamcast

Games released as part of SEGA Forever will be free-to-play with ads, but an ad-free version of each title can be purchased for $1.99, regardless of original console generation. The following five titles will be available at launch, with new releases to come every few weeks:
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Altered Beast
    Phantasy Star II
    Comix Zone
    Kid Chameleon

SEGA Forever games will also contain lots of new features and enhancements, including leaderboards, cloud saves, offline play, controller support, a community news feed, and menu screens in many different languages. SEGA Forever launches worldwide for iOS and Android devices on June 22nd.

I won't be downloading that. Playing quick-reflex action games on a touchscreen? That sounds horrible. I would bite if they did Phantasy Star Online from the Dreamcast, I'm always up for more of that, but otherwise, no thanks.

You can use a regular controller instead.
