    Default Pfft... my mom...

So, today I went to my parents to pick up my mom's Game Gear to re-cap it for her, as well as a couple of other odds and ends like her Game Boy screen needs to be re-glued and such. She's a big puzzle game player, so her Game Gear has always been a workhorse, though I'd forgotten about the Neo Geo Pocket Color games I gave her, like Delta Warp. Anyway, in her games, I find this:

Lousy game, but it's a prototype. What was my mom doing with a prototype? She apparently bought it at a garage sale in a lot of Genesis games for $.50 a piece. Weird, eh?

    So does my dad!!

One of my favorite things is that she learned to touch type by playing Typing of the Dead. True story.

Heheh, she'd been sitting on that thing for 15 years. I asked her if she ever noticed how much heavier the cart is and the odd label, and her respone was, "I never really thought about it. I tried it out when I got it, and it's stupid, so I put it in my case." Hee.

You youngsters, with yer' fancy smancy Dreamcast keyboards and zombie typin' games. Back in my day, we learned to type by having to input text from type-in programs in home computer magazines. You'd peck at the keyboard for hours, run the program, and it would work maybe one-tenth of the time; you'd have to sort through all them crazy numbers and such for another hour just to find where you screwed up at. Ya'll kids today, mumble mumble mumble... and stay off my lawn!

Heh, she never learned to type in her younger days, but always talked about wishing she could. So, when she turned 50, I got her a Dreamcast, keyboard, and Typing of the Dead, mostly as a gag, as I also gave her Bust A Move 4 and Mr Driller. Damned if she didn't use it!

My mom could barely handle an Atari 2600 joystick, so it's pretty impressive to me that your mom would actually play games on a Dreamcast. If I gave my mom that kind of set-up, it would never get turned on.

I hope you can dump the rom of that prototype and then get lots of money for it on the 'bay.

My mom is somewhat cool with games--used to borrow my Gameboy all the time to play Tetris but now is all into facebook games (tho she still has her own GBA SP). Never once got a prototype tho.
