Default Intellivision stuffs, whats going on with it.

    Some thing I've noticed...

for a long LONG time INTV stuff was super cheap, cheaper than 2600 stuff. many many carts under $1 but now they have taken off.
the cheapest game is boxing. it was sub 50 cents (US$) for years and now suddenly its averaging $2.34 within the past year or 2.

systems were the same way, any bog standard console or sears console seemed to run $10 or less and now its averaging $30, don't get me started on how redonk the system II got.

value wise its taken off maybe its a time thing or what, I cant see any relation to whats been going on in the "scene" to these prices.

no I am not saying this is too expensive, its way not its still pretty cheap but going from 50 cents to $2.34, if this were the stock market that would be major improvements

I wonder if it has anything to do with the Intellivision Flashback bringing the Intelly back to public consciousness.

The name "Intellivision" has been in the news a lot in the last year, right? Might be why.

I think it's indicative of the rise in prices of classic video game stuff in general, and a pattern I've seen in other hobbies I collect stuff for. Once prices get too high on one type of system (or amplifier, or radio, or phone, or...), collectors generally move onto a system whose stuff costs less, then the prices on items for that system start to rise just as with the other system, so collectors move onto the next lower-priced system, and so on and so forth.

Personally, I've still managed to get good deals on video game stuff in general from time to time. In 2016, I managed to find a boxed Intellivision ECS unit at a swapmeet for $20, and a year or so later, I snagged its Music Synthesizer accessory (also in box) at a different flea market for $15. Of course, this has me wanting an Intellivision II to match them, which has proved elusive thus far.

Very odd, especially because in my experience there's actually been a nosedive in the Atari market in general. Seeing games selling for way less now. Might just be my own experience though.

Wow, INTV is high priced now? I always just figure it's because the only sellers these days on this old stuff are the flippers who price everything high.
