Default 4K HDR TV or Monitor Recommendations for Gaming

About to make the leap into modern gaming with a PS4 Pro, I've been looking at lower-cost smaller-sized 4K TVs.
In particular I'm leaning toward the:
    43" Samsung NU7100
    49" Samsung NU8000 or
    49" Sony Bravia XBR49X900E

Besides a PS4 I'll also be inputting classic consoles from the RetroTink upscaller at 480p, in my research I've not been able to understand how well any of these sets will handle that lower input.
Do any of your have deeper insight into these sets, or a better alternative?

I've read that the Samsung NU7100 does not correct Judder. How much of an issue is this?
Is Motion Interpolation something I'll want for playing older upscalled content?
I was almost settled on the Samsung NU8000, but I've read how the Smart TV interface is littered with advertisements which can not be turned off. I think that is a deal breaker.
Is an internet connection required for using a Smart TV, will I be able to use these modern TVs for games and movies without an internet connection.

Is a TV even necessary, should I go with a 4K monitor instead?
    Any suggestions or recent experience?

This lengthy video is very informative and thorough. Essential viewing, really. Their explanations and considerations of color, brightness, and feature settings provides me exactly the schooling on 4k TVs that I needed. I certainly appreciate their explanation of cables and spliters and to look for 18Gbps, that's something I otherwise would have overlooked.

After many hours of research, I ended up settling on a TCL 49" Class LED 5 Series 49S517. This seems to be a popular 4K set for gamers. The 49" 49S517 is $350 right now. Best buy sells a xxS515 variant for ~$20 cheaper which includes a slow unresponsive infrared remote.
Anyhow, this set is supposed to upscale decently, and has OK input lag at around 17.9-20.5 ms. The main negative aspects are that the viewing angle is supposed to pretty bad, and the nits aren't sufficiently high enough for HDR.
I figure for $350 it will be a good entry and introduction to 4k.
