    Default Console exclusive titles

What are some great console exclusive titles that have never been ported to a console newer than what the game was first released on?

For example the Mega Man games wouldnt apply because they reappeared in the Anniversary Collection.

Off the top of my head Little Samson is the first one I can think of. It was only released on the NES and the only way to play it today is either through piracy or on a NES cart

    Others:
    Joe and Mac 2 (SNES)
    Legend of Legaia (PS1)
    Medievil (PS1)
    Rocket Robot on Wheels (N64)
    Seaman (DC)
    Sega Marine Fishing (DC)
    Super Mario Sunshine (GC)
    Downhill Domination (PS2)

Popful Mail for Sega CD is a port of the PC Engine game if that counts.

I feel like a list like this could go on forever but I guess it depends on your definition of 'great'

So I'll just give some turbografx offerings
    Air Zonk
    Beyond Shadowgate
    Blazing Lazers
    Bonk's Revenge
    Bonk 3
Dungeon Explorer (sega cd game is different)
    Dungeon Explorer II
    Legendary Axe
    Legendary Axe II
    Neutopia
    Neutopia II
    Ninja Spirit
    Soldier Blade
    Super Star Soldier

I bet Tugger wants to hear a song off me new album!

Not really popful mail for the sega-cd is a completely different game. While popful mail for the pce is a port of the PC98 version.Beside neither version play alike at all.

    Here are a few:

    Dark Wizard (Sega CD)
Shining Force CD (Sega CD) - books 3 and 4 unique
    Third World War (Sega CD)
    Iron Storm (Saturn)
    Shadowrun (Genesis)
    Shadowrun (SNES)
Nectaris (PS1) - original Military Madness is included, but the other portions are unique
    Neo Nectaris - Turbo Duo
    Vandal Hearts II (PS1)
    Brigandine (PS1)
When I come home from a long day in Hell, there's nothing I'd rather reach for than a fire-brewed bottle of Styx Beer. Made from the filthiest waters from our own River Styx. Styx Beer is a third more toxic than any other regular beer. The worst beer - the filthiest beer - the deadliest beer. It's Styx Beer!

I meant to say exclusive meaning theyre not on any other console, meaning you need to buy that specific console to play it otherwise you have to emulate it. Neat list though, hadnt heard of some of those

Unless you are talking series as opposed to individual games those are all unique to the respective platforms (as far as I know) with the possible two exceptions I noted - but both Nectaris (with 76 scenarios in addition to the 32 from the original Military Madness) and Shining Force CD (books 3 and 4) you have to get those consoles to play them.

You could maybe talk about PS2 backwards compatibility or the various sega cd compatibles (of which there were a surprising number for a system with so few games) but that would be quibbling IMHO.

    Here are few more:

    Panzer Dragoon II (Saturn)
    Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
    Herzog Zwei (Genesis)
    Burning Rangers (Saturn)

Shadowrun is not exclusive to a specific platform.

    Same title, totally different games:

There was also a Shadowrun for the SEGA CD - yet another totally different game - unfortunately it never made it over here from Japan.

I don't think the Neutopia games really count. They were available on Wii virtual console for a long time. I wouldn't say anything on VC, PSN or Xbox Live counts.

Yeah im basically compiling a list of games that should be brought to Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, VC, Steam in order for people to enjoy. Having to pay hundreds of dollars to play a game that could be rereleased for $5 is never fun
