Default Help identifying an arcade racer

Firstly, apologies for the lack of details and the details I do have are a little sketchy. Here goes -

I'd seen the racer in the arcade I'm guessing around the late 80s to early 90s.
You could select from a number of racers (different characters).
I think most (if not all) cars had a driver and a passenger.
There was 1 female racer (pretty sure she had blonde hair and was in a pink car)
You could see your position in the race via a leaderboard which showed the characters profile pic (in a square). These would continually update as your position changed during the race.
At first I thought the game was Outrunners but that game doesn't seem to show your position in the race via the character profile pics.

Again, apologies for the lack of clarity. I hope this rings a bell in someone's head. I've searched on google images and YouTube but can't find it. I'll know it as soon as I see it!

Any help, thoughts will be greatly appreciated - it's driving me mad

Thanks SegaMasterMonster - it was Power Drift!

Shame this hasn't been released on any modern consoles - would love an arcade perfect port.

I believe the only arcade perfect port is included in the Yu Suzuki Game Works Vol. 1 for the SEGA Dreamcast, but it is a bit expensive and difficult to find, as I remember
I'd like to try the 3DS version so as to compare.

Power Drift was in US arcades.

edit: or was it? Wikipedia indicates it was not released to US arcades. However I know I played it at a local bowling alley back around 1989 or 1990, and I've had other friends who knew the game from arcades.

edit edit: Yes, it was definitely released in the USA
