Default New Earthworm Jim game with original team, Exclusively on Amico.

Not sure about this and definitely not sure about the Amico in general, but this in theory is pretty cool if not somewhat awkward, we shall see I guess.

Im not a fan of EW1. I thought the enemies were kind of cheap and the levels just a convoluted mess. I remember EW2 wasnt bad though

Tommy wrote the music for the original game. It's cool to hear, although I felt like the original was mainly popular due to the animation and art style. It was not a terrifically fun game.

It might be good. I'll wait and see before I get too excited.

I'm pessimistic and see this coming to other systems when the Amico turns out to be vaporware.

Aa long as it has a remix of "Anything But Tangerines," I'm down.

Even this isn't enough to save the Amico, in my opinion. I'm not terribly surprised by this announcement, considering Tallarico is the president and CEO of Intellivision Entertainment. If they were smart, they would've at least passed on bringing gross-ass Doug TenNapel aboard.

I agree with that. It's one of those games that's mostly just flash and hype, rather than substance.

I liked the original game as well as the sequel, I found the gameplay to be fun and varied. I'm not sure why people are saying it wasn't that good to begin with. I only have doubts about a new game being good because so much time has passed between the original games and this supposed new version that I don't think any new game will have the same feel as the originals, it'll feel like a copycat knockoff.

My main problem with them is the level design. It feels very sloppy and haphazard, and it's got that whole Western design style where you can't tell precisely where a platform ends. But I also don't care for the corny 90s too-cool-for-school attitude and humor, and I've never been a fan of Tallarico's music (or the guy's blowhard personality, for that matter).

I'm mostly neutral towards Earthworm Jim; never got the chance to play either of the 'good' games. I like the overall silliness of the concept, but good concepts do not a good game make. I'd feel better about this if they announced it on something that doesn't sound like one of the cash-in vanity projects that seems to have become resurgent these days. If it wound up on a major console I'd be far more likely to at least try the thing.

I legitimately played Earthworm Jim for the first time EVER this week, thanks to the Mega SG. I really quite enjoyed it, and will put more time in soon.

What makes this even more odd: I had a Multi Game Hunter and Super UFO back in the day(Console Copiers) so I had pretty much every game ever released on the SNES/Genesis. I guess just the name "Earthworm Jim" kind of made me skip it.

Why Amico? I have a feeling when the Amico goes belly up this one's going to get ported to Switch, maybe PS4, Xbox One and/or PS5 or the next Xbox.

Because Tommy Tallarico, the composer of Earthworm Jim, is the CEO/president of the company creating the Amico. So he used his connections to gather together the old Earthworm Jim crew in order to make a new game for his system.

    Why not just a Kickstarter?

The audience is there if the goal is set low enough

Why would they need a kickstarter if the game is already being made?

Practically every game development Kickstarter campaign is a disaster in one way or another, so the fewer games funded via Kickstarter, the better, in my opinion.

So I recently revisited Cool Spot (Gen) and read that it was behind the same people who made Earthworm Jim. This makes sense as both of these games have great soundtracks, graphics, and animations, but level design and controls leave something to be desired. I guess I prefer easier games where enemies are easy to kill and stage design is a bit simpler. I made it to level 4 on Cool Spot. It seems like trial and error and the enemy projectiles are too fast for my inferior gamer reflexes. It reminds me so much of the Earthworm Jim games in that I suck at them but appreciate the visual art style
