Default Pokemon question for somebody who hasn't played much of them

    I see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...on_video_games
Certain games are 'Directors cuts' of other games.
If I were to start at the Gameboy Advance stage, what games/cartridges should I get so I can play the best version of every game without repeating a game.
I'd like to avoid downloadable content.

Start with Fire Red/Leaf Green then. They are remakes of the originals. The next would be Heart Gold and Silver or whatever theyre called. Then Ruby and Sapphire. Couldnt tell you anything beyond that

No, play alpha ruby & omega sapphire, platinum, black and white, black 2 and white 2 for DS, X and Y, sun and moon, and finally Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for 3DS.

Also play let's go pikachu/eevee for switch instead of fire red and leaf green.
