Default Games that wear your thumbs out

My favorite button masher would have to be the non-trackball version of Track and Field. Those buttons take some serious abuse.

Are there any games that require faster button pushing than T&F? Im sure some shmups require a lot of button mashing Im just not well-versed in that genre due to rarity/price

I don't know about button-mashing, but Mischief Makers is a game I like but find almost unplayable because of its awkward control scheme that makes my thumbs hurt within 15 minutes of playing, especially because of the sharp edges of the C buttons.

I find my thumbs get worn out faster than they used to in general now that I play a lot of visual novels and other genres that aren't demanding in terms of controls. Or maybe I just notice it more when I switch back to action games, as opposed to when I was playing them more frequently.

Burning Soldier on the 3DO. I literally injured myself trying to beat that one without autofire.
