    Default Good FPS on PS2?

This is a territory Im not well versed in. During this gen the only FPSs I played a decent amount were Halo and Agent Under Fire. I recently picked up Time Splitters 2 and good God does the aiming suck. The reticle should stay in the center of the screen when you move the right analog stick. this game is almost unplayable.

There are some Id like to try. Kill Zone, Time Splitters: Future Perfect (if they fixed the aiming system), Red Faction. are any of these decent? I never tried the other 007s besides AUF. I tend to go for futuristic type FPSs. this is one area where I felt the Xbox had an advantage over PS2

I've really been wanting to play the Time Splitters games for awhile, I actually own all three on a couple different systems but never got around to playing them. I just bought the first one last week actually as someone was selling off a pile of PS2 games for a decent price and that's the one game I really wanted. I was hoping to find a copy for a few years.

If I get around to playing the games soon I'll let you know, they were all pretty much FPS games so some must be decent. A few Medal of Honor games, 007 Nightfire, Area 51, XIII, etc. I was planning to just keep a few and sell off the rest as I don't have the space to really keep them. I wasn't sure if I would even bother trying them before selling most of them off. Most FPS games feel pretty generic or similar to me so I never got into the genre too heavily.

I recently pick up Black for PS2. I didn't expect anything but EA push the PS2 graphics to absolute limit. Graphic is very impressive for it's time. Gameplay wise it is just like another generic FPS.

Half-Life and No One Lives Forever come to mind.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"......and I'll look down, and whisper "no."

    This Urban Chaos?
Interesting, it says there it was a project started at the end of Argonaut Software's days.
That is a game I'd never known about before. I'm not a player of FPS games hardly at all, but Urban Chaos sounds interesting enough to check out.

Two other different or uniquely styled FPS on PS2 I can think of are Ghosthunter, and XIII.

Thats a pretty liberal use of the term "police officer." youre playing as a member of something like a cross between the SWAT Team and Delta Force. And youre not running around shooting unarmed black men, youre killing white guys dressed and armed like Jason Voorhees. just another example of someone injecting their personal politics into a video game or movie to try and offer a unique take on something even if there is no connection. they did this with the Joker movie. instead of just enjoying it they had tonm say the movie was about the media, or racism, or the wealth divide, etc. people forget that not everyone has the same obsession that they do.

Edit: I just looked at the box and yeah you are a police officer so my bad. but still... the game is almost played out as if there were martial law and hundreds of gang members were roaming the streets committing crime. its so far away from reality that I dont see a connection. its not like your job in the game is to pull over black men and then kill them when they reach for their drivers license (actually happened in my state)

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that article was so inflammatory. I only skimmed it and only read about the development aspects. The narrative aspect of the game doesn't interest me much.

edit: I just re-skimmed and searched the article and there are absolutely no references to race in it whatsoever. I don't know why you are focusing on race in your comment.

"even if its portrayal of police shootings feels wholly inappropriate set against the nightly news."

In 2016 the news was dominated with stories about police brutality and in 99% of the cases the victim was an unarmed African American male. Vice is a very liberal news org. I dont see anything inappropriate with the game whatsoever unless there is a part of the game where you are going after someone who looks like Michael Brown.

another game that comes to mind where you play a crooked cop is True Crime. you can stop and frisk anyone you want, kill anyone of any age or ethnicity and some of the Hispanic pedestrians even inform you that they have a green card.

I love these kind of games and I think people should just lighten up. a lot of it is how the violence is presented when I think a game is inappropriate. I have yet to play a game where I felt "ok this is in bad taste." Vice is trying to create something out of nothing and knowing their positions I know what angle they are playing. you wouldnt see this article on a right wing site.

I would because the evil liberal MSM covers the conservative talk shows all the time.

I remember when some guy tried to say Loco Roco for PSP was offensive to blacks. and said guy wasnt even black. people are always trying to make something out of nothing. I do think some games cross the line when it comes to ethical standards but they rarely see the light of day and this isnt one of them

just picked up Area 51. I had fun pistol whipping soldiers and shooting their butts as they told me to "knock it off" and proceeded to smash the vending machine so itd dispense extra cans of soda. i think its hilarious there are vending machines in a top secret facility. I wonder how the vendor is able to re stock the machine without a top secret security clearance

    Security escort.

I installed network services at General Dynamics in the 90’s. We had to do the work after hours and had an escort with a flashing light that broadcasted a constant beeping sound. It was quite annoying.
