Default Atari, Activision, Taito, and Data East Flashback Blasts - $5 @ Wal*mart

    GET TO THE CHOPPA!

I mean, get to Wal*Mart when you can as the price of the Blast! micro game HD consoles has been reduced to only $4.88 at stores. Basically, for $5 each you get a power cable, a wireless RF controller, a micro console that connects to an HDMI port, and a collection of included games which usually numbers around 20.

The ones which I saw at my local Wal*Mart were:
    • Atari Flashback Blast! Vol. 1
    • Atari Flashback Blast! Vol. 2
    • Atari Flashback Blast! Vol. 3 (a Wal*Mart-exclusive)
    • Activision Flashback Blast!
    • Legends (Taito and Data East) Flashback Blast!

    Some notes:
    • The Atari Flashback Blast! Vol. 3 actually includes two paddle controllers.
    • The games included are classics from back-in-the-day plus newer indie games for the old consoles.
    • The selection of games mostly seems to be designed for the Atari 2600.
    • The Namco Blast! wasn't at my local store with these other ones so I'm not sure if it is included in the $5 sale.
    • You might require an HDMI extender if you can't get the micro console to connect to your television's HDMI port.
    • AtGames made these which usually means imperfect emulation and hardware that is lacking in quality or design so "caveat emptor."
    • If nothing else, then think of buying these as getting moral permission to emulate the games on whatever platform you choose if the AtGames experience is sub-par - that's my outlook, anyway. ;-)

I've seen those games at the local Wal-Mart at that price since Christmas but no one has even touched them. They are fully stocked.
