Default Will Analogue release portable consoles designed for carts of classic consoles next?

Basically SupaBoy but not a piece of garbage? And then the same for NES, Genesis, N64?

Id pay good money for a sleek, elegant, reliable portable SNES. Matching color pallette, same button layout and D-pad.

No emulation, no USB or SD slot or any of that crap. Just make a console that doesnt need updates to the firmware or any crap like that. Put all the money into the hardware to keep costs down.

I suppose the ability to pull save data off carts and transfer them to PC would be nice for those who dont own a Retrode. I just feel that when the option for firmware updates is there, it gives them an excuse to release an unfinished product

I'd figure they'd rather create home versions of other consoles first.

Rather see them preserving the legacy of those machines without resorting to the gimmickry that those types of "portable consoles" resort to. They can leave that stuff to those who have already done it.

They're not chasing the cheap dollar, nor should they.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

If the portable SNES isn't made by Nintendo then something will be off with it, even hardware based there will be some type of defect or compatibility issue. Maybe the sound will be off or the speed, or it won't be compatible with all games. I'm just glad Sega made the Nomad even though the battery life is limited.

Would be awesome if they made their own Neo Geo FPGA console, but add slots for both AES and MVS. That way, both carts can be played on the same unit, making it a bargain.

I wouldn't trust it to be perfectly spot-on from Nintendo either. After all, the original Super Game Boy runs games faster than an actual Game Boy.

Very true, I forgot about the Super Game Boy speed issue when I wrote that. Even some of the official Sega released consoles weren't great, it's why people are picky with Genesis console variants to get the best sound chip or graphics encoder. I just feel that the 3rd party systems are even worse in quality or have more noticeable deficiencies.
