Default Paper Mario: The Origami King (New Switch Paper Mario game)

Looks like some lessons were learned, but I will remain skeptical. Launches July 17.

Yeah, I can understand that. Nintendo really likes its gimmicks.

Pleasantly surprised they didn't just port the Wii U Paper Mario.

If the humor is there with good game play then i'm sold on the game.Still i'm gonna wait and see after the reviews come out.Even before this trailer there were rumors that nintendo was having another paper mario produced,so no surprise there.

Color Splash was a massive flop even by Wii U standards and got a lukewarm reception at launch that turned to active dislike as the years went on. It's not surprising Nintendo didn't just port it, and that this game despite sharing design elements changes the biggest problems it had.

It looks great, hope it goes back to the basics established in The Thousand-Year Door. That was my favorite one.

Sadly Nintendo will never go back exactly to Thousand Year Door.

Why do you feel that way? Did some or most of the original developers depart? Or just generally based on the use of gimmicks in the last couple of iterations?

The use of gimmicks plus Miyamoto's very well-documented dislike of that game and Super Paper Mario, combined with poor decisions made by the new staff.
