Default matching controllers and cables with their respective consoles

So this is massive undertaking that will require the help of others who are interested but I would like to compile a list of every major game console and what specific controllers and cables would have been originally included with the systems. As most people are aware, there were several revisions of the Genesis. What many don't know is that the 3 button controller with red markings came out with an older revision of the Model 1, whereas the one with white markings came later, maybe even with the Model 2. I have a list on my computer that pieced together some of what I have gathered by looking at sold eBay listings where the console was new in box. As years go by, controllers and cables get seperated from their partner so I think it'd be interesting to at least be able to know what went with what even if the specific controller you have in your hand didnt come with the console you're playing- but one that is identical to it did, so you are getting as authentic of an experience as possible. I've found this to be enjoyable insofar as playing, say, a PlayStation 1 game from 1997, I like to play on a controller sans analog sticks since they didnt come out until 98. Id go one step further and play on an SCPH-5501 if I had a working one.

When I have time I will copy and paste those lists of what I have found so far but in the meantime, please share anything if you have some insight or you still posess a console you received as brand new and know what went with what. Because I certainly do not, all my consoles were bought secondhand, except my GameCube.

I wonder if the admin can update the site so as to allow for more than 8 photos per post? A picture tells a thousand words and would probably make life easier for people looking at this

    1-1-22 Update
So I just copied and pasted what I had from a note I made earlier this year from looking at eBay listings where you could see everything was still in baggies and basically untouched. So it's as accurate as I can possibly get but if anyone notices any mistakes, please let me know, and I can investigate further. Also, just realized I can attach photos if I am doing this from my laptop instead of my phone. So as I come across pictures, I will add them. I don't know how many pictures I should add or if that's helpful for people. I don't want to bog down this thread insofar as loading it. I know not everyone has high speed internet and that text loads much faster. Let me know what you guys think if I should just have a photo of the front of the box or if you want the back, the guts, etc. I would also like to seperate each console into its own table but I am not sure how to do that. i tried making a table, using HTML but I am not seeing the borders.

Some insight into what Ive learned. There are

    Alterered Beast
    Sonic (Leader... Red markings)
    Sonic (Leader... White markings)
    Sonic system
    Core
    Streets of Rage 2
    Sonic 2
    Toys R Us
    Canadian
    Canadian 2

8 different box variants for the U.S. version that I am seeing and 2 different Canadian ones. This is only for the Model 1 (1601 model). I believe the Altered Beast one was the only option until Sonic was released, then your only option was the Sonic pack-in for a while until they gave you the option to buy either the "Core" or the Sonic pack in- at which point I believe this is when they stopped putting red markings on the controller. At one point along the line, there was a Fighting System that came with Streets of Rage 2 and there was also a Toys R Us exclusive one. There was also a "Sonic System" and "Sonic 2 System". The one that came with Sonic 2 I am guessing is the last bundle that they made because I am thinking the Model 2 Genesis came out around that time. I havent gotten that far yet...
