Gamers Uplink BETA Online! -- Making a comeback!

I remember when I wouldn't even consider having an Atari Jaguar collection because I had heard that Tempest 2000 was the best game on the system. Tempest? Tempest?? TEMPEST??? - a tube shooter with nothing to see and nowhere to go? I mean, I don't mind playing simple shooter games, but at least give me some interesting backgrounds to visit with ugly monsters and mean robots to kill. Thankfully, Tempest 2000 was most certainly NOT the best the Atari Jaguar had to offer. Is Tempest 4000 an upgrade from Tempest 2000 or just TxK reprised? I see that I already have this game on the PS4. Musta been on sale or something.
I picked up Tempest 4000 on the PS4 for $5. I still can't get past the altered voice samples in the music - the guy's voice is a bit annoying. I prefer the Jaguar chiptune music.
Tempest is one of those games that was so unique and fun and such...in the arcade. Home versions never really quite cut it, and they're at best off shoots of the original, I mean how much can you really change? It's like Tetris but not as addictive.

I got the Ultimate Tempest 2000 on the Saturn. I also have it on the Jag and the video quality (even with S-Video) isn’t on par with the Saturn version.
Where else can Tempest go from there?
