1. Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut (Vita) 1/14
Here's my first for the year. Short game overall, but the perfect length for what it is. By the time I had it beat, I had got my fill and was ready to move on.
1. Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut (Vita) 1/14
2. Exile's End (Vita) 1/25
Both endings knocked out, but still a little more to do. I'm glad I gave this game a shot despite all the harsh words out there about it.

I wasn't expecting to have another game beaten so quickly, but that's only because I didn't know Lucifer Ring is so bare-bones. No complaints there, though. I appreciate games that value my time, so I'm totally cool with a short game. It's got nothing on the 2D greats before it, and I say that as someone who isn't even that especially fond of the beat-em-up genre, but it's a goofy game that was worth the tiny bit of money and time I invested into it. Now, for the people who drop hundreds of dollars on a physical copy... I just hope they're mostly doing so to get a collectible haha.

I was mostly playing just to amuse my daughter, but it feels good to give this game a serious revisit. It's my first time beating it since the '90s, as best as I can recall. I remember having a heck of a time with the 150cc cups as a kid, so I guess I'll see how tough they are for me now.

Streets of Rage Remake is probably my favorite beat 'em up of all time. I had no idea they released an updated version (which is already several years old) that adds 16:9 support, some new tunes, and other features. I hated to lose my old save file with everything purchased in the store and several dozen hours playtime on it, but it was worth it for the upgrades.

I think beating this game may have shaved a tiny bit off my life span, haha. Maybe shmup aficionados would think nothing of it, but I'm proud of myself for getting through this one, regardless of how many continues it took.
