Never had tried the GB versions of this series and was kinda impressed. Slow but solid fighting mechanics hampered by only having a maximum of two enemies at once. It would have been serviceable as a portable game at the time.

    10. Capcom VS SNK Pro (Dreamcast) 08/28
Went through a run of this on the new English fan translation, always excellent. As much as I've played this over the years I always play the JP versions of Pro and 2 so all this English dialogue is new to me.

    10. Steel Empire (3DS) 09/02
1CC'd this on my first time ever playing it, and I'm by no means a good shmup player. 3D visuals and atmosphere will have me run through it a few more times. I don't think the 2D Steam port of this will be very appealing though.

    12. The King of Fighters XIV (PS4) 09/30
Finally picked up a used PS4 for this and a few other exclusives. Great game but looks like pure ass.

    13. Street Fighter X Tekken (PS Vita) 10/16
Ran through this twice on hardest difficulty to get a few trophies. Fantastic port but the Vita just flat out sucks for a button intensive fighter like this. Fantastic looking portable visuals but not having a joystick and 6 button layout really diminishes the fun for me. That's not a knock against the Vita, just that this genre of game doesn't translate to a portable well IMO.

Another virus, another Game Boy game for my list, haha. Let's hope I can go a little longer before getting sick yet again.

    13. Game & Watch Gallery 2 (GBC) 12/10

Game & Watch games are obviously endless, where you simply try to improve your high score, so there's no traditional way to beat this. But you do gain stars based on your scores, and at 50, you earn the staff credits roll. I got my 50th star last night, so I'm counting it at beaten.

I suspect this will be my last for the year. I'll probably play some more of this and the post-game content of Star Ocean 5, so I don't see myself both starting and completing something new before the end of the year. Kind of a disappointing total, but it's still the second highest of any year since I became a parent. I've been playing Star Ocean off and on for half the year, with nearly 100 hours on the clock (and most of my nightly gaming sessions are an hour at most), so it's no surprise that slowed my rate of clearing games.
