It'll be the same games that appear on all the other Atari collections. Lots of filler to plump up the game count, like Home Run or Super Football. Meanwhile, they've got a great Jaguar emulator but don't ever have games I'd like to see like Battlemorph or I-War in their collections (although I heard on a review that Atari sold the rights to Battlemorph for some reason?). They keep trotting out the same stuff in new ways and new platforms. I can't justify another purchase of the same set of games with one or two new ones thrown in.
@Steve W
This is expansion of the original Atari 50. So it includes all the games that were initially there, the games that were later patched in, and it's going to have another 30 games on top of that. So likely going to see a lot of games that haven't made its way to any Atari collection, though we're also going to see homebrew stuff because they included homebrew games that were made onto the Atari 50 as well.
However, if I were to add my opinion of Atari games as I've only played either Atari 2600 games or games they no longer own the rights to, Atari games to me just feel like mini games that within seconds you've already hit a repeating loop. There's no doubt about it that video games have been getting better and better year after year( up to a poiint, and while we might see some of the best games ever made on the NES, Super Mario Bros 3 is a good example, the only thing that Atari has going for it is innovation and inspiration, only the most hardcore of Atari fans will ever state something that's came from Atari is one of the best games ever made, and that opinion is likely due to their growing up with the game, not because the game is actually better than anything else that's been on the market.
In addition, they're supposed to include some of the Stern stuff they recently acquired like the actual arcade version of Berzerk and, hopefully, Frenzy as well.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"......and I'll look down, and whisper "no."
Didn't Atari just buy the rights to the Intellivision recently?
That they did recently.
