I just want to say, IGA can go right off and fuck himself for making Order of Ecclesia as trial and error bullshit as it is. So, when all is said and done, I wasn't wrong, my opinion of Order of Ecclesia is the exact same as the DS version, I didn't judge it unfairly after all these years, it's a game I do want to like because again, the game feels a lot like Castlevania 2 which is one of my favorite games in the series. It's easy as hell but I've always liked the game, before it started regaining some popularity after AVGN shit all over it.

Every boss in the game is trial and error, but it doesn't get to the point of absurdity until you get after the third boss, then not only is this bullshit trial and error out the ass, but you die in three or four hits at the most from nearly every boss. You're not beating the bosses at all without trial and error from multiple retries, and at that point that you finally do beat the boss, you've already memorized enough of the AI and attack patterns that hey, you can get the medal and do it without getting hit, because the amount of HP the bosses have just to defeat them and you can't even survive four hits, well, you're going to spend a little more time and do it without getting hit once, and I did, for every boss up to Blackmore. But then when it came to Death, Eligor, and Dracula, that medal can go fuck right off. I tried a lot of times against Death but every single time I defeated him I always got hit three times. I could never perfectly dodge any of his attacks every single time through, at least when he tells you to get ready and slashes at you with his scythe or summons the large scythes around you. So with a lot more tries I'd eventually be able to get lucky and do it in one go.

But Eligor? Not happening. Because Eligor's AI is both based on your position, as well as whatever he wants to do. When you get to his back he'll either do an elbow, raise the sword all the way up, or raise the tail all the way up, and in each situation you need to be in one of three different positions. When the animations start, they're so quick that only Jesus Christ himself has that sort of reaction time, or a descendant of Jesus Christ. Then Dracula makes Eligor look like a bitch because his first form is fairly easy. He goes between three skills that are easy to dodge and deal damage, classic Dracula for the most part. His second form is just bullshit. If you watch a video of someone who can do it without getting hit the entire run, it's much harder than it looks. You pretty much have to be pixel perfect with every single action, and now when hee fires the arrows into the sky they continue to drop down and you can either run one direction to avoid them which you don't have enough space, you literally have to turn the other direction the absolute frame the last one hits the ground and move the other direction to gain enough momentum to avoid the next falling one and then turn back the exact same frame it hits the ground and repeat. If he summons the hellhounds, you have to already be right up on him using attacks to kill them because if he does any other actions while any of them are out you're fucked. You're dead in three hits unless you do an absurd amount of leveling.

Killing the bosses without getting hit? Defeating the bosses period is bullshit. The fact that 70% of people started the game and then only 21% on PSN defeated Dracula on Order of Ecclesia, and how many of them do you want to bet used the rewind feature throughout the game because of how bullshit the entire game is. I did not use the rewind feature on any boss until Dracula, so allof the medals I got were legit. I just wasn't going to go through the bullshit of defeating Dracula legit when my opinion of Order of Ecclesia dropped back to what it was since the DS, the game is a piece of shit. It's bullshit and so much of the game sucks any enjoyment out of the rest of it. Change your weapons constantly because nothing deals reasonable damage against anything without attacking with the right weapon, the absurdity of all the bosses, so yeah, fuck Order of Ecclesia.

Here's a quote from a Youtube video of someone that has defeated every boss without getting hit, only with melee weapons. And I remembered this specifically because I've watched it back then as well and remembered the Youtube channel Arek the Absolute which is now named Arek the Dragon. After watching the video see now i could have used the spear to deal a hell of a lot more damage from Dracula than what I was using, maybe I would have actually been able to get the medal after all. Doesn't really matter though, and it just brings me back to just how much bullshit the whole weapon damage mechanic is when you have 80 different fucking types of damage so hey, try out every fucking glyph to see what one deals the most damage. It's fucking stupid how much you have to rely on constantly changing glyphs because of every fucking enemy in the game is weak and receives more damage from something different. So yeah my complaints about this piece of shit are exactly the fucking same.

[quote]Dracula is easy. First phase of battle is something that is not even worth mention. And on the second phase Dracula has only one combination of attacks that can give a little trouble. But, after all this battle suits OoE: crappy game - crappy final boss.[/]

HOD literally had the main artist of Castlevania ( the creators wife who was interviewed in "PLAY magazine" ) given more options. She is resposible for the look of Castlevania from it started and especially the PSX game.

HOD actually have some hidden play modes via various password usages.

For me it was my First official physical play of Castlevania outside of emulators. Buying this game and playing it on a GBASP was amazing.

In comparison to the PSX game "Syphony of the Night" HOD is a cake-walk ( or drinking barely water ). But the whole purpose of the game is to enjoy it as much as possible, while being a Gameboy game. The game is literally a play-by-play of the PSX game from a different point of time. Automatically from the get go you are in the shoes of the PSX game.

Circle of the Moon is literally like the first SNES game. It is there to be a GBA game that took advantage of being a GBA game. HOD has tons of visual improvement in terms of "being more realistic in art movement", where COM is more or less a traditional 2d pixel-art game. You will even see the 3d-clock-tower as you march towards Dracula.

You want a fast paced game that looks great then play HOD. The problem with HOD is replaying it, because it feels like work. Also the enemies are much more appealing. Like what the fairy from "Berserk" looks like. COM is more like if Simon was the main character and it was modern times.

You want a game that is sluggish, challenging, and your characters are ripped out from Sherlock Holmes then play COD. Also the enemies are kinda goofy and obviously ripped from other games. In fact this game is more or less akin to the N64 game and it's enemies structure. Insane, and over-powered, and completely not logical.

    .............

Here is the problem with every Castlevania after HOD. It is the sales of the game itself. With AOS
( a present day, modern, mature but stil youthful ) you have this idea of revival but it becomes more about the cards, and attempts to focus on the beauty of white, while being more pixel-art rather then
GBA ( Vector surreal better looking ) art.

Konami also had a change in power structure ( which we know all too well ). The flat fact the NDS was not being purchased in high numbers, and the art style shifted towards being Anime ( unlike HOD artwork which was fine-arts ). NDS games is like if somebody took a step back to the Mega-Drive ( Genesis ) era of games. Imagine an over-powered Genesis system with the 32X power and shading and color blending and usage of the SNES.

NDS games are completely alien to me. I find myself wanting to checkout the Wii, MD, or other missed CV titles.

    ............

I believe the direction of COM contrasted with HOD ( Wife of the creator of Castlevania series ) involvement.
