I just noticed I had a pack of 24 AAA batteries and it made me think of a couple other things about how bullshit inflation is. Those batteries cost me less than $20. Despite most battery types being used less now days, the cost isn't just the same, the cost is cheaper. So 30 years later and batteries are cheaper than when I had to buy them for my Game Boy. If that doesn't already break the inflation bullshit lid there's more. Why are they so much cheaper when even less of them are being used now days, oh, that's right, in 30 years, there's been revisions and upgrades in how to make batteries better and cheaper.

With video games, new software has made the barrier to entry cheaper and easier to make video games, AI development does a lot of repetitive tasks that would normally need to be done with the use of people, and the annual income of the average programmer hasn't changed much in the past 30 years. So not only do people get paid relatively the same as they did 30 years ago in this line of business, the time that it would take to develop the same game 30 years ago would be nothing in comparison.

A good example of this would be the estimated cost of a game like Expedition 33 which a lot are throwing out is around six million. Final Fantasy 7 was $100 million and due to "inflation" would cost $200 million to create now, so it just confuses me that developers are able to achieve better results at far lower costs. You'll have to explain this to me because clearly I'm lost on this inflation bullshit, oh wait, no I'm not. Inflation is a bullshit excuse.

Is kupomogli ever happy? I wonder.
I plan on buying a Switch 2 someday despite not having any interest in portable gaming. I do not care for Nintendo's roster of characters nor do I appreciate it's family friendly style of game development. But I'm sure there will be exclusive third party Switch 2 games I will want to play. Damn exclusives and eveyone who supports them!
Nintendo of America claims they plan on experimenting with variable pricing. I don't care for price increases either, but it's perfectly within their right to try. I think Nintendo can count on families begrudgingly not wanting to disappoint the kids. If Xbox and Sony raise game prices too, we can at least count on the inevitable drop in a games price over time, rewarding patient gamers. How Nintendo is able to avoid discounting it's game prices, I've never understood. It really sucks to be a Nintendo loyalist, but they defensively claim the games are worth it.
Other Switch 2 things I don't understand is how an apparently region free console is region locked in Japan and priced substantially cheaper there than international versions.
The Key cards are pretty offensive too considering the cost difference between a dummy card with the buyer bearing the full cost of an internet download and a full game card with no difference in the game price. But I would rather own a Key card than a Code in a Box.

I certainly won't ever buy a game for $70 and I haven't. I said it way back then when Sony increased the price, hell, I rarely buy shit for $60. Ys10 and that was a mistake, game is a piece of shit, and it was a piece of shit that I spent $60 on. Waste of fucking money. Coincidentally Ys9 was the last $60 game prior to Ys10.
I feel ya on Y's10. I bought the game on sale at Amazon for $40 April Fools day. Saw it in "Todays Deals" for $29 at Amazon last week. Today it was back up to $59. Funny how things work. Don't ask me anything about Y's though. I'm just collecting them for now.
I paid full price last week for Clair Obscur Expedition 33 PS5 because of all the mentions on the gaming sites I browse and was planning on actually playing the game immediately. But Amazon has delayed delivary until May 14th.
YIKES! Funny how things work out.

"Inflation doesn't exist because of this anecdote about a pack of batteries I bought."

It would appear that illegal aliens have more rights in the US than Nintendo Switch 2 users will. Nintendo will become the Judge Dredd of the gaming industry. The Switch 2 will monitor the users activity and "report" suspicious behavior to Nintendo for judgement? I wonder how this information will be transmitted for users who choose not to connect their device to the internet. Will simply passing through internet hot spots automaticaly trigger the transfer of information without user consent? Does this mean that Nintendo expects the Switch 2 to rely heavily on game downloads, in effect forcing users to connect their device to the internet? That would certainly suprise all those who claimed Nintedo would be the last bastion of physical media.

I don't like electronic devices that spy on users, but I don't condemn Nintendo for trying to prevent piracy. To hell with "game preservationists" and all who support them

    Ok.
The point is, inflation doesn't exist, it's how much the companies can get away with charging the consumer. Do you think anyone would pay $100 for a video game? Some people would sure, but most people wouldn't and every single game would be a financial failure.

Covid was an excuse to increase prices, did the prices ever come down? No, they saw people were willing to pay these high prices for food and while food is a necessity, fast food and restaurants aren't, these prices didn't go down, they went up. Businesses were actually making more than they ever during Covid and because people are willing to pay more for the same product, they still increase the price and don't reduce it once the outbreak is clear.

Again, inflation is bullshit and anyone who believes it's not manufactured by businesses is just blind. The government's fair whatever bullshit act, lol, you can't even live off minimum wage. Eventually this world will be ran by businesses and everyone who doesn't already own property will only rent from large corporations. No one will own anything because eventually buying and reselling houses won't be as profitable as the long term financial gain of renting, buying up all the property so no one can purchase or build a home and build just apartment complex after apartment complex. Imo, that's how things are going to eventually happen, those science fiction settings like Blade Runner or Cyberpunk 2077. That's the future of most generations. Unfortunately, this is just first world problems because there are countries like this, but that's the direction everything is headed.

Right this update to there user agreement probably means the switch 2 isn't as secure as it's suppose to be.I guess nintendo being controlling as they are is trying to get ahead of it.
