Pfft. I'd find a Sega Genesis controller more comfortable than that thing, and cheaper.
not bad, but he could have used a controller case in better condition.
I also use a genesis controller when I have too.....but my TRON controller rules
"one of a kind" Yeah, right. Atari Age was selling the same thing at CGE 2002.
Well, I can see the reason for using Nintendo parts -- they're readily available and cheap. But the old "pain-box" NES pad is probably not the best choice. (The later rounded style, maybe.)
If you're going to use a Nintendo controller on your Atari, at least convert something nice like an Advantage. That way, you get the same functionality of the old joystick, but in a bigger and more thumb-friendly package.

PS: I agree, he could have chosen a better donor pad. That one, to be frank, looks like someone stepped on it several times.

Do any of you know how to convert NES to Atari like that? I have an extra NES Advantage and might be interested in trying it.Originally Posted by Duncan

If you're asking the question of me, I don't know anything about the how-to aspect of this conversion. I simply think the NES Advantage would be a much better and more comfortable choice to play 2600 games with. (You could even paint it black and orange for effect.)

I imagine the process involves hacking the innards of a 2600 stick and mounting the individual contacts underneath the buttons of the NES pad in place of the NES controller innards.
