Default Incomplete Guide to Gaming Events

OK. I've tried doing this once before but now that we've got an entire forum about it, and most every organizer visiting here regularly, seems like a good time to pull this together.

I'll ask you to simply cut-and-paste this bit here, start a new post and fill in what you know - then I'll organize everything into this list here, ultimately creating a complete "guide". Sounds easy, right? OK.

All the MAGFest info looks good. To fill in the approximate attendance, I'd put like 400.

Well, Los Angeles has E3 and nearly maybe had "Ultimate Gamers Expo", though it appears that was a total sham. I don't know of a classic or local gathering in that area, however. Looks like it's up to you to get the ball rolling!

Speaking of UGE, Is it just me or are all of these "video game convention" type things popping up all of a sudden? I mean, yes, videogames are awesome. And yes, I'm glad there are more things revolving around videogames going on.

But UGE seems like a ripoff. Take this for example:
"Ultimate Gamers Expo is the first-ever massive gaming festival for the general public where attendees can "test drive" the hottest upcoming and current games, participate in competitions and experience the action that, until now, only game industry insiders have been exposed to."
I mean, MAGFest is coming up on year 3, and we've been doing tourneys and showcasing new games and stuff at every con. It kinda bothers me.

I'm curious as to why pricing isn't listed as a criterion; these can't all be free, right?

    There is!

NWCGE has been around for awhile, I was hoping one of their guys would supply the stats so I can add it to the list above, but you can get to them from their site: http://www.nwcge.org

Also note that CGE might... just might be in California this year. Doesn't get any more west coast than that. Details to follow!
