Default Goo Gone and NES Cartridges

Goo Gone is very useful but after having cleaned the traces of markers, they do not disappear completely because in the way which the shell are made (there small "hole" where the marker stay in). It is a way of erasing it completely ?

Have you tried scrubbing with a toothbrush against the textured pits of the plastic with goo gone?
