Default I Seek advice; What's reasonable price for a woodgrain 2600?

I'm looking to finally pick up a nostalgic woodgrain atari cx2600a i beleive. One with that awesome faux wood panel. I don't need controllers or games but i do require a working system and it's cords.

What i ask is, how much is reasonable? Ebay i know from Transformer collecting is rediculus for it's prices sometimes. I wouldn't even know a deal.

So i come to the experts - you! I hope you don't mind if i mine your collective brains for informantion? I didn't think so

    Welcome to the forums!

If you have a moment, please introduce yourself at this thread:

    Enjoy your stay...

PS I wouldn't spend more than $20 for an Atari 2600 woodgrain model - and there are a few people here who could sell you one, check out the Buying and Selling forums and put in a request!

I think he was looking for resonable online price. Sure he could find one in the wild, but that could take months or even over a year.
The atari finds are drying up, at least in my area. I only found one this year and it had the difficulty switches broken off. Even with going out every weekend to sales from early May until now. People are starting to quote ebay prices everywere. I got the dreaded phrase, " that's what they go for on Ebay." at least 20 times this year and not just for video games. I want to say, then why don't you sell it on ebay or this is a yard sale not ebay, but I always restrain myself.
Back to the question at hand. I would say if you don't need a six switch, don't get it. Go with the 4 switch wood grain. They are way cheaper. I would think around $20 with power supply is resonable on ebay. Shipping will cost around $7-10 bucks.
I would say try to find someone in the buying selling forum to sell/trade you one. You will get a better deal. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Damn, Joe!! You beat me again to the response. I guess great minds think alike . I was writing my post while you wrote yours and our responses were basically the same. I thought I was the only loser reading the posts at 7am. Good to know I am not alone!!!

Thanks for the advice. I will post in both that newbie thread and the trading fourm, cheers.

I completely agree that ebay has kinda ruined flea market shopping.

You guys across the pond have got it well easy!!!!!!!! :/
I've been after a 6 switch 2600woody for a while now, but have yet to see any 2600's in the wild!
UK ebay prices for a half-decent condition (fully working) woody don't usually finish below £40.00
(in my experience), thats roughly $65.00! Many finish with price tags well above that!

Ah, but you folks across the pond get all the good DVDs first. So it's a wash.

Besides, we both know that it's the Japanese who get all the good stuff first, cheapest, and plentiful.

    Do we.....?

I thought that generally everything "movie" based came out in the states first!?!?!? Anyway, our Region 2 discs normally suck when it comes to special features in comparison to region 1's........! :/

......and it's always fucking raining over here too ....dammit I'm coming to the States!
