    Default Quick Dreamcast region question

I have a Japanese dreamcast game (shenmue II) Brand new! I was wondering if I needed anything to play this game on my dreamcast or will it just play with out any modifications?

    Thank you!

Get a boot disc. That'll fire it right up.

So I need a boot disc to be able to play the game? I haven't tried it yet and don't want to open it if I can't play it!, Thanks!

Depends on your model. A few of the newer ones will not boot boot-discs. If your DC is older (first year or two production run) then a boot disc will work fine.

Download the boot disc, burn it, try to boot with it. If it boots, you'll be able to play Shenmue II.

boot disc should work fine, but if you can't read Jp, get the XBox or Euro DC version!

A gameshark works just fine as well and should be pretty cheap by now.

For all your DC homebrew stuff and bootdisks and what so ever (how to make self-boots and stuff like that, or just emus and other strange homebrew software for the DC)

    Take a look at:

    www.dcemulation.com

(Hope Iīm not breaking any rules by posting that url... canīt say thereīs much that can be said "ilegal" on that site... maybe the boot disc(s)... or?)

I recommend the UTOPIA disc, as itīs just insert disc...
Thereīs also some discs thatīll look/work like a OS-X (mac) like browser thatīll enable you to select what file to load (1st_read.bin or whatever theyīre named)
So you can easily make multiboot discs
