It's arcade emulation. And the dual joystick is used for the Robotron and Smash TV. Controls have been modified for Defender and Stargate (the thrust and reverse buttons are replaced by d-pad/joystick control, just like in the Atari 2600 version). http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/act...w_6071651.html
It's scheduled for release on Nov. 3 for GCN and PS2 and on Nov. 17 for Xbox. It will sell for $30 CDN (approx. $20 US). At this price, it's have to suck really badly to not be worth it.
Thanks for the info Lady Jaye, yeah I hope the collection turns out well, I'm guessing Midway is trying to be nice to the fans by not pricing the hell out of it (yeah right) but ya never know

Most of the titles on the compilation have already been emulated on the Playstation. Aside from adding dual shock support for the games, I assume that little to no work needed to be done to put those games in the compilation. And so the "new" titles we're getting are, like, Satan's Hollow, Rampart, and Vindicators? And the interviews, of course. Which I hope aren't just the same ones from the Playstation Midway and Williams collections.
So I would fully expect this thing to sell for around $20 (U.S.).

Well some of the old school compilations don't work fully on PS2, like on Aracade Party Pak only aout half of the games actually work.
And from what I've seen on Amazon, it indeed will be only $20.
It is really going to be that price (that wasn't speculation but assurance on my part). The product is already in the CompuSmart.com website and is listed at $29.99 CDN (and they wouldn't discount a game before it's even released).
The dual shock's stick support puts the PS2 version at a strong advantage over the GCN and Xbox versions. And that's why I'm getting a PS2 copy, not a GCN one (I don't own a PS2 yet, but already have many games for it).
I actually found myself using the d-pad and uttons vs the dual sticks for Rootron and Smash TV... the sticks seemed a bit too small and slippery for the games.
