Default Strangest Thing You've Found In A Console

Pretty self explanatory... I was testing a Gen I got this weekend and noticed some rattling. I figured it was broken plastic, but when I opened it up... 4 Pistachio Shells. WTF?
So, what have you found in Consoles/Controllers. I figure there's been lots of bugs... any rats? cash? feminine hygene products?

I opened up a 2nd hand Saturn controller to find some ripped up pieces of paper. I pieced them together to find that it was a letter.

A $1 bill inside a 2600, it was taped to the main board. I also found "I LOVE YOU" written on the bottom of a cart, but it was done with little stickers (one for each letter). Odd...

Maybe someobody was trying to tell you something... They knew the only way to get your attention was with videogames. Of course, they should have made it look like a prototype...

A large green plastic screw from my sons workbench in my Dreamcast. He was 2.5 yrs old at the time, my system made a terrble sound and wouldn't work one morning, and thats what I found as I opened it up to see what the " new " rattle was. When I took it out, as my son was watching, he said " I fix it dad! ". Put the cover on, and it worked fine again, I asked him not to fix my Dreamcast anymore lol.

I found a bunch of legos in a TI-99. I also found an unopened candy bar in the expansion box for the same TI-99. Once I found a bunch of beetles in an Atari ST Megafile HDD.

Funny you should mention weed and NES. I found a boxed PowerPad at a Goodwill not to long ago and when I folded it out there was a small metal pipe and a baggie of some extremely old weed powder folded up in the center. Looks like some kid hid his shaddy stuff with a NES accessory many many years ago.

I found a few tiny little plastic dinosaurs rattling around the inside of a ColecoVision once.

Found what looked lke a older style cash register receipt taped to the internal "guts" of an Atari 2600 woodgrain.

I've opened up 4 2600's and found one of those in each of them. They were all stamped with some sort of number. It was underneath one of these where I found my one dollar bill. I think those pieces of paper were put on in the factory as some sort of "passed inspection" thing.

You know that little pop-off plastic piece on the bottom of the original NES? Let's just say that I guess my friend realized quickly that it made the perfect place to hide condoms from his parents...

I knew a kid in Jr High who got busted when his folks discovered his weed stashed in his NES. The thing must have been designed with the stash box feature in mind.

    Default ick.

    three for the record:

someone bought in a boxed odyssey in mint shape...except for the mummified mouse carcass flattened into one side of the box top (eww)

another time this girl bought in a genesis to trade, and, working in this shop for ages, you can SMELL roaches a mile away. anyway, i turned her down flat, but the next day she came in, and my boss took it without testing it. i came in later, and almost threw up- the smell was quite bad! finally, i convinced him to poke open the cart slot, and sure enough, it was PACKED with bugs- mostly dead ones...

finally, we got a stack of snes games once, and as i was going through the pile, i pulled out a mega man x3 to put aside for a customer, and i didn't notice the white mass clogging the cart until i turned it over, and about 5 white baby spiders ran across my hand, over my shirt, and down my pant leg. good thing i'm not scared of spiders, but some girl screamed and ran into the door of the shop!...=^P

$1 box for 7800. It was taped shut but felt quite heavy so I assumed it had the console. Didn't think to look inside after all it was only a dollar.

Took it home. Opened the box. Found a handful of dried corn seeds and a few bones that I think belonged to a possum. The only thing inside of use was a lone switch box, very brown and rusted.

Yes I still have the box btu everything inside had been dumped out.
Another day, another dollar... wake me when it's payday.

    Default Atari 2600 Joystick Controller

As usual, I go to the auctions to look for any trace of console games, and I found an Amiga CD32 with 2 A2600 joysticks with it. I boguht the things for $4AU and took it home. I only just noticed that one of the a2600 joysticks had rusty buttom nails. Curious, i decided to open it up. Inside, i found heaps and heaps of used bubblegum, and a few spider carcasses. Since I'm scared of that type of things, i squealed and threw the a2600 controller straight in the bin!!!
